Are you a high school or college student or a parent/grandparent that loves Christ and willing to share that love with our parish children during the week of Vacation Bible School? We NEED you!
Join us at this year's Vacation Bible School, "Rocky Railway"! The dates of camp are May 26- 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. All volunteers will need to be available from at least 8:15 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. all four days. Safe Environment training through the Archdiocese of New Orleans is mandatory to participate. All volunteers will be highly expected to attend Vacation Bible School training days prior to camp. Training Days are TBD. This is an unpaid position, but will offer service hours and/or resume references if needed.
The positions available are the following:
1. Group Leaders (5 positions available)- High School Senior students, College students, Adults (min. 18 years or older) preferred.
Job description: lead morning meeting activities, lead campers through each activity, assist Station Leaders with lessons/presentations if needed, facilitate positive and safe management of group, assist campers in their needs, be fun-loving and excited about Christ!
2. Group Leader Assistants (5 positions available)- High School 8th graders- junior year preferred.
Job description: assist the group leader in facilitating positive and safe management of group, assist campers in their needs, be fun-loving and excited about Christ!
3. Station Leaders (6 positions available)- High School Students Junior year or older, adults, preferred.
Job description: read station instruction manual and be prepared for lesson of that day, gather materials and supplies needed for the lesson of the day, present lesson to students in an engaging and fun way, be fun-loving and excited about Christ!
4. Station Leader Assistants (6 positions available)- High School 8th graders - Junior Year preferred.
Job description: assist station leaders by also reading station instruction manual and be prepared for lesson of that day, assist Station Leaders by gathering materials and supplies needed for the lesson of the day, assist Station Leaders by assisting with presentation of the lesson to students in an engaging and fun way, be fun-loving and excited about Christ!

Decorations Committee
We are seeking individuals to decorate our learning spaces in the theme of "Rocky Railway". We have a guide to follow and can get the material to get it done. Just need someone (or some people) to put it all together. Volunteers for the week of VBS are encouraged to join this committee. Meeting dates will be in April & May, 2020. The "Put it all together/Decorating Day" will be on Monday, May 25 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Supplies Committee
We are seeking individuals to help gather the materials for the Vacation Bible School program. Working with the Director, Candice Schmidt, this committee will review each task for the program from the guide books and compile a list of "what we have" and "what we still need" or "how we can make this work?" Volunteers for the week of VBS are highly encouraged to join this committee! Meeting dates will be in March, April, & May, 2020.
