SVdP is a worldwide organization in service to all of God's children. Vincentians look upon their ministry as a vocation that provides an opportunity to extend the mercy of our Lord through friendship and service to each other and to the needy.
Vincentians provide service through personal encounters in the home of the individual or, if necessary, at the parish office. We strive to provide direct relief to those parishioners experiencing a temporary crisis meeting their basic needs. Financial assistance is provided for rent, utilities, medications and food, etc.
Members may also participate with stocking the SVdP pantry, for weekly distribution of groceries, and with preparation and distribution of Thanksgiving baskets. Some other opportunities are available through participation in the annual metro-wide SVdP Friends of the Poor Walk, conducting a "Tolietries For the Homeless Drive", making and delivery of breakfast sandwiches for the homeless at the St. Joseph Rebuild Center, and mentoring members of the Young Vincentian Conference of St. Angela Merici School.
If you feel a call to serve God through diret service to others, to experience camaraderie and a community with your fellow Vincentians and to increase your spirituality and sense of fullfillment by helping others in need, please contact Conference President Ed Mazoue', Jr. at [email protected] or attend one of our meetings, on the 3rd Monday of each month, at 6:00 p.m. in the Religious Ed. Library of the parish administration building.
The St. Vincent de Paul Society is grateful to the parishioners of St. Angela Merici for their unselfish contributions in support of our mission to serve God through service to others in need, whenever we have asked for needed donations.
